Using products made of recycled paper helps save valuable resources in so many ways. Of course, fewer trees are cut down, but also less water and energy is used in the production of recycled paper than in that of paper made from trees. Valuable landfill space is saved, and since Seventh Generation whitens their products using a non-chlorine bleach, the formation of dangerous toxins is prevented. During regular bleaching proceseses these toxins are formed and released into the enviornment, including organochlorines, furans, and dioxins, which have been linked to cancer and birth defects. Who would have thought that a simple choice to use recycled paper products could do so much good, both for you directly and for the environment?
