When I looked at the ingredients in this shampoo, I was disappointed. There are quite a few synthetic ingredients. In fact, most of the synthetic additives are the ingredients found in baby shampoo. Relatively speaking, then, this is what I would call a "gentle synthetic" formula, and is better than many of the regular pet shampoos I have used in the past. I hesitated to include this shampoo at first, because it contains so many synthetic ingredients, but it is such an effective product, that I ultimately decided to carry this line with the disclosure that it is not totally natural.
