This prodct is a great alternative to regular dryer sheets, which traditionally contain not only strong fragrances, but a whole host of other toxic substances. Why do we allow our clothes to be saturated in these chemicals? Remember, whatever is left on clothes after using dryer sheets is not rinsed off before you wear those clothes; hence, you might as well be wiping your skin directly with your dryer sheets. Think about that as you review the following list of common ingredients often found in dryer sheets:

Alpha-terpineol causes CNS disorders and is highly irritating to mucus membranes.

BENZYL ACETATE—Carcinogenic (linked to pancreatic cancer).

BENZYL ALCOHOL—Causes CNS disorders.  It is irritating to the upper respiratory tract.

CAMPHOR—Causes CNS disorders. This product is on EPA’s Hazardous Waste list. NOTE: Camphor originally comes from the camphor laurel tree, native to Asia, and is specifically toxic to young children when ingested, due to their immature liver detoxifying mechanisms. It is a common ingredient in muscle rubs and cold medicines, where it is safe (and effective) for adult use.

CHLOROFORM is toxic. It is an anesthetic and carcinogenic. It is on EPA’s Hazardous Waste list.

ETHYL ACETATE—Narcotic. This product is on the EPA’s Hazardous Waste list.

LIMONENE is indeed Carcinogenic. “Prevent its contact with skin or eyes because it is an irritant and sensitizer.”

LINALOOL is a Narcotic. "Causes DNS disorder, respiratory disturbances ... Attracts bees.”

PENTANE—“Inhalation of vapors may cause headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, irritation of respiratory tract and loss of consciousness."
