This stuff is absolutely amazing! First, I know it looks incredibly weird. I was skeptical myself. But I have had the most painfully sensitive teeth for quite some time, and one of the purported benefits of this tooth soap is the elimination of such sensitivity. I have been told by a number of dentists that I have lost most of my enamel, and that the only way to get any relief would be to use a high-fluoride toothpaste (like Sensodyne) for the rest of my tooth-full days, which is what I have been doing, until now.
I have spent the last five years unable to bite down with my molars into chocolate, dried fruits, or anything else sugary, as well as very cold foods or drinks, due to my painful sensitivity. Within days, and yes, I said days, of using Tooth Savior, my tooth sensitivity was almost entirely gone. I have been able to actually bite down on foods that I had never imagined I could once again.
In addition to relieving sensitivity, which is just one of the many benefits of this product, this tooth soap also leaves my mouth feeling incredibly clean, with no sour or unpleasant aftertaste, even when I wake up in the morning. I have to admit the taste is not great, but it's OK, and the benefits make up for lack of flavor. This product does take some getting used to, but once my expectations of what a toothpaste "should" taste like were gone, I fell in love with tooth soap. I now use it every day.
I know that my teeth are doing great, but I have a dentist appointment in mid-February, after which I will add my dentist's comments on the overall health of my mouth since switching to Tooth Soap. Check back soon for that update- I'm looking forward to it!
UPDATE: I just had my dentist appointment on February 12. I am pleased to say that my dentist gave me an excellent report. Last visit (6 months prior), I had minor gingivitis, one cavity, and a decent amount of tartar build-up. Not this time! My gums are healthy, my teeth had no signs of decay, and almost no tartar build-up. Additionally, my dentist uses Dentin Block before she starts cleaning, due to my painful sensitivity, to help ease the pain during the cleaning itself. Even with the Dentin Block, I usually still have pain during cleanings, but I experienced no pain this time around. I actually left the dentist smiling!
Directions for Use:
As you can see in the photo, this tooth soap comes in the form of green shreds. You take one shred, and bite down on it with your molars, so that it sticks to your teeth. You then brush over it with a moistened toothbrush, which causes the soap to foam, and you continue to brush until the shred has disappeared. The company says that this jar should last two people two months, but it is lasting me significantly longer.
